Ulbricht Nutcrackers
Ulbricht Nutcrackers
The company Christian Ulbricht GmbH & Co. KG is located in the beautiful resort Seiffen and just celebrated its 80 year anniversary. In 1928, Otto Ulbricht founded the company under the name of workshops for fine woodwork and toys. The former office building now bears the name Nussknackerhaus and is a museum with many exhibits from the early days of Erzebirge folk art.
the company Ulbricht was expropriated after WWII, and company founder Otto Ulbricht was deported and the company disbanded. After the return of the Ulbricht family fled to the West and built in the Bavarian town of Lauingen.
In 1968, the second generation Christian Ulbricht led the reunification of his father's farm in Seiffen and now the nutcrackers are produced again in the heart of Erzgebirge.
Ulbricht nutcrackers are world famous but Ulbricht also produces so much more Erzgebirge folk art. Pyramids, smokers and music boxes, all with the same high quality and attention to detail. Ulbricht products are handcrafted works of art that are a welcome addition to any collection.
